Period Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

The interior of the secretaire needed reconstructing in this piece as two of the drawers were missing. The owner also wanted the modern cheap baize replaced with a hide insert. We also made up satinwood arches to fit in the compartments. All surfaces were cleaned with a spirit soap in order to preserve patination and were then polished with a hard wax. The bookcase was then lined with blue silk and plate glass shelves were fitted at the customers request
